So, Tell us about yourself

1.I have never written a list of things about me.
2.I hate the question "So, tell me about yourself."
3.I am a dylexic typist.
4.See I told you so.
5.I have been married to Mr. Steady since 2001.
6.Sometimes the fact that he is so steady annoys me to death.
7.He annoys me less than any person I have ever met.
8.I hate cheetos. They look gross, smell gross, taste gross and they aren't even good for you. And they leave orange dust EVERYWHERE - and I do mean EVERYWHERE.
9.I deprive my children of cheetos (see number 8).
10.I am posting this at 2:39 am because I am an insomniac.
11.Every time I try to write something it turns out so serious even when I am trying not to be so serious. Seriously.
12.I have a terrible sweet tooth.
13.When I was 4, I screamed at the rodeo because they were hurting those poor little defenseless bulls.
14.I regulary say "good grief" I don't know why it just comes out.
15.I attended 5 different schools during colllege.
16.I became a nurse because nobody loved me enough to tell me better.
17.It has been a dozen years since I played the Frech Horn but I still think about it frequently. I have even had very vivid dreams where I am holding the horn and I can feel the cool metal against my lips and feel the air coming out the bell. I read the music on the stand and I feel the vibrations of the orchestra around me. *SIGH* Maybe someday I will play again.
18.I have had the following nicknames: Jenn, Jenny (I hate this one), Nifer, Niffy, Nifster, Jenn A, J'naynay, and Leonard.
19.I am unsure if it is proper to capitalize nicknames but I did anyway.
20.I am good at spelling.
21.I broke up with a boy in 8th grade because he couldn't spell.
22.I really like books. I like to read them, hold them, smell them, own them and I like the way they look on a bookshelf.
23.I have been a Girl Scout for 25 years (and counting).
24.I hate small talk and I am not any good at it. I would much rather have a good converation by asking good questions. But for some reason people think those good questions are rude(especially if you just met).
25. I am addicted to watching "Survivor" but I would never be on it. Because the reality is if I found myself lost or trapped somewhere I would think "oh well, guess I'm gonna die now".
26.I have fantasies of being a hot sexy snow bunny.
27.I can't ski.
29.I would love to drive a race car one day.
30.I went to clown college and graduated.
31. I am 31 so I think 31 things about me should be enough and I am stopping here.

Homeschooling is not Magical

Well, here I am again. I keep thinking I will write more often and then I don't. I have been madly searching www.homeschoolclassifieds.com and www.bestbookdeal.com for those last few books I need and generally trying to get ready for the school year.I just finished reading "How to really Love Your Child" by Ross Campbell M.D. It was a quick and easy read with a lot of powerful stuff. It's not about do you really love your child it is about really showing it so they really get it. It gave me some pointers, renewed my resolve and made me feel that I am at least doing some things right. I recommend it for any parent. We have one very challenging child and sometimes I have anxiety over what will become of him. But I know that it is just the enemy taunting me and that ultimately we do have the victory. But I need reminders here and there. I love my children. I love the opportunity we have to homeschool. We are not a magic, perfect family but I hope they turn out all right.
